About Us
Founded in 2023, Vibrant Markham Foundation is a registered charity organization with the following goals in mind:
• Advancing education by providing STEAM workshops and TechTalk seminars to the general public.
• Providing assistance to newcomers in Canada by providing workers safety (OHSA, WHMIS, AODA, Employment Standards Act) training and tips for job seeking.
• Raising awareness and funds to support other charitable organizations that are also registered charities under the Income Tax Act (Canada).
Our Missions
To enhance the intellectual quality and the technological literacy of our community, we have commenced a flagship space program in 2024 in hopes that it benefits our community with this goal in mind. Our one-of-a-kind space program is Canada’s first community-based space program. This program consists of two stages: rocketry (Stage 1) and satellite (Stage 2). We kicked off Stage 1 in August of 2024 by launching a month-long rocketry bootcamp where our students learned how to design and build a rocket with an IMU sensor to track its position in flight. Stage 2 is our ultimate mission where we set our sight in space, some 300 km up in the sky. Our ultimate goal is to launch our own satellite and set it in orbit for the City of Markham to conduct scientific experiments.
Thanks to the popularity of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and Robotics, we have incorporated A.I. and Robotics into our space program in the spring of 2025. Through this program, our students are able to design and fabricate A.I. operated machines. Their work of "A.I. Controlled Heliostat" is showcased at the City of Markham's Youth Science Exhibition on Earth Day. This year, two students from our local high schools that we coached have been selected to present their work of "Bladeless Wind Turbine" at the Markham Youth Science Exhibition.

Land Acknowledgement
